There are many things to add to a PC...

PC Gamers have only three to add... a Joystick, Steering Wheel and Controller Pad

Joystick
Remember those days when you had those joysticks? They were slightly easy to use and great to play with, especially fighting games. This is almost similar to the Nintendo Wii's Nunchuck, but that's a different story. Joysticks have been here for the PC, since PC Gaming came out! PC Gamers should have these for next-gen fighting, shooting or multiplayer games.

These bad boys have gotten cheaper over the years. They're probably between $19.99 - $29.99. This is a great add-on to your PC.

Steering Wheel
This is a great accessory to those who are racing fans! This will take your gaming experience will change dramatically. Similar to the Nintendo Wii's Controls, the Steering Wheel is way different from standard controllers (Xbox 360, PS3, etc.) Here's a good example. Say your playing Driver. Instead of pressing keys on the keyboard, you have to move your arms to turn (using the steering wheel). That does change your gaming experience because it makes you feel that your actually driving the car (not touching buttons to let the car drive for you).

Steering Wheel prices have gone done a lot. They are probably between $59.99 - $84.99, depending on store and quality (brands).

Controller Pad
Controller Pads are great for one thing. PC Gaming! These will help you if your having trouble with the old JoyStick, and are used to playing games with a controller. These are great because you have your main buttons to press. The look also is similar to the Super Nintendo Controller, but still very useful when playing. These I don't see that much because of the out dated companies, and the incompatibilities with the newer computers.

If you manage to get one, they come pretty cheap. They are probably the price of the PlayStation 2 or Xbox Controller. $14.99 - $29.99. But the only downside to this is that some buttons aren't on the controller. So your probably forced to use your keyboard at some point. But still, I recommend this to modern gamers.
